STANDARDIZED TESTING
Testing, Testing, Testing. Today students do far more testing beyond the classroom than they ever have in the past. Besides the regular classroom tests and finals, they take several high-stakes tests. To find more information on specific tests see below or contact the guidance office.
SAT / PSAT
AP/ CLEP
The SAT is an entrance exam used by most colleges and universities to make admissions decisions. The SAT is a multiple-choice, pencil-and-paper test created and administered by the College Board.
We recommend students take the SAT or ACT test at least twice in their Junior year. Students that opt to wait until their senior year should schedule the September ACT or October SAT.
Khan Academy offers free SAT preparation for students. Students simply log into their college board account and click on the "Take a Practice Test" tab and they will be taken to Khan or click on the SAT Practice button below.
Students that receive free and reduced lunches qualify for an SAT fee waiver. If you qualify you can request your fee waiver here.
PSAT is a practice SAT. They are typically administered to Sophomores and Juniors about the third Wednesday in October during the school day (8 am- 11 am). There is a fee of around $17.
Check in the guidance office for more details before Fair week.
